I have started a new “series.” Each Wednesday I put a shout out on my facebook friends page asking for Etsy shops and Blogs… thenI feature a new one each Friday with a quick little interview. It’s so fun and I’m excited to create new friendships with some truly talented ladies along the way! Win~Win!
My very first feature is Shannon from HustleMama.
I found some very creative and adorable stuff while browsing through her store! I think that one of my favorites is her rendition of Dress Up Dolly. What a perfect gift for a little girl. My daughter would LOVE!
Ok… Lets move on. Shannon, Thank you so much for taking the time to share your creativity and story with my readers.
When did you start your Etsy shop?
- I started under another name in 2009, but revised and revamped my brand to HustleMama in June of 2010.
Is your Etsy shop to support your hobby or is it your job?
-It has slowly changed the last year or so. It started out as a way to support my growing fabric addiction! But I got so much great feedback on my handmade food bags, that I really started focusing on those. I also love branching out into those fun, different type products. Such as: mason jar tumblers, kids games, etc!
Was there a time when you sold something different than you sell now? If so, what was it?
-I started out selling hair accessories (which is an easy hobby when you have 3 little girls!) and I bought a pattern off etsy for reusable food bags. It was popular with my group of mom friends, but was so tedious to make. It was the traditional velcro/french seam bag, and I kept tweaking the design, because the velcro was so difficult for my little girls to open, and it kept snagging my sewing machine, not to mention DESTROYING my laundry. After much evolution, the HustleMama snack bag was born!
